Cost for a three-hour workshop is free for 3 years and under and $7 per person for 4 years and up (children and adults).

Minimum charge for a workshop is $300 or 43 participants.

Maximum number for a workshop is 80.

Registration deadline for minimum number of paying participants is usually four weeks before the scheduled activity.

Depending on your time frame, we can schedule a snack or lunch break.
TWO workshops ON THE SAME DAY:

Participants may come to either one or both of the workshops.

Cost for one workshop is free for 3 years and under and $7 per person for 4 years and up (children and adults) OR

Cost for two workshops is free for 3 years and under and $12 per person for 4 years and up (children and adults).

Minimum charge for two workshops on the same day is $500 or 40 participants for each workshop.

Maximum number for each workshop is 80.

Bring lunch. We will have a morning workshop, break for lunch, and then an afternoon workshop.
Travel EXPENSES:
Science Partners' home office is in Longwood, north of Orlando. If your workshop site is 50 miles or less roundtrip, there is no mileage charge. If your site is over 50 miles roundtrip, the charge is $ .48 per mile for the amount OVER 50 miles. Your group may choose to pay the mileage expense separately or add enough to your registration fee per person to cover the amount. Please contact Science Partners if your location will involve air travel or overnight stays.

workshop Descriptions:
The Bear Essentials
What is a bear? Where do bears live around the world? Could they be living in your neighborhood? We’ll look at the major bear species of the world in general and then focus on our own Florida Black Bear. This bear is our state’s largest land mammal and, sadly, is on Florida’s threatened species list. Through a variety of activities including crafts and a game, we will learn bear anatomy and physiology, behavior, activities and movement, life cycles, habitat requirements, and limiting factors. We’ll see a bear skull and claws as well as learn ecological concepts to help us understand how our actions impact the Florida Black Bear’s survival. Learn to “Be Bear Aware.”
The Hidden Kingdom - Insects and Arachnids
Buzz on by as we learn about insects, spiders, and other creepy things! You’ll be bug-eyed when you see specimens of the world’s largest insect, the world's heaviest insect, the insect with the largest eyes, and more! Learn about the butterfly and its life cycle – from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. Do butterflies grow? How do they smell? Do they migrate? What is "metamorphosis?" Does the Bible teach about it? Discover even more about creepy crawlies by observing them on a nature hike, playing a game, viewing a short video, and making creepy crawly crafts. Hope you can “flutter by” and join us!
Marine Science – See the Sea
Can a male sea animal give birth? Are there fish that actually have their own lighting systems? What sea animal has eyes as big as soccer balls? Mr. Clifton draws from his years of experience as Head of the Education Department at SeaWorld of Florida and his creationist perspective to answer these and other questions as he shares with us his knowledge of the sea and the awesome creatures that live in it. We'll view a fascinating visual presentation and see many artifacts from the sea including shark teeth and jaw, piranha, puffer fish, and more. We’ll also play a game and make a craft to reinforce what we learn.
NOAH'S ARK AND THE WORLDWIDE FLOOD
The story of Noah’s ark and flood has been told for centuries with variations in cultures all over the world. Is this story really true? Could one man really build a boat that big? How could all the animals fit on the ark? What about dinosaurs? Did the flood destroy every living thing? Was it global? Where did the water come from – and where did it go? Is there any evidence in the earth of a worldwide flood? And what does all this mean to me today? Find answers to these and other questions during this workshop that includes a visual presentation, a scale model of the ark, crafts, and a game.
Walk with the Dinosaurs
Are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible? Did they live along with man? Why did they become extinct? Are they all extinct? What can we really know about them? Mr. Clifton will share surprising information about dinosaurs with us. We’ll also learn about dinosaurs through games, crafts, and activities, see actual fossils, and much, much more.
