Mr. Bill Clifton’s objective is to instill in his students a passion for God’s creation by using his background in science and theology, his instructional skills, and his teaching experience. For over 20 years, Mr. Clifton has taught a variety of science, Bible, and creationism classes for public, private, and home schools. He was head of the Education Department of SeaWorld of Florida for seven years and served on church staff as Minister of Education for six years.
Mr. Clifton’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) from the University of Alabama, a Master of Science Education degree from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has had many additional hours of study in various areas including Electron Microscopy, Marine and Wetland Ecology, NASA Space Camp for Teachers, Rain Forest Ecology, Central Florida Habitats, Florida Environmental Issues, Global Positioning Satellites, and Florida Birds. Mr. Clifton completed the Lunar-Meteorite Certification through NASA that enables him to handle and exhibit rock samples from the moon, as well as meteorites. He holds a current Florida Teaching Certificate.
Mr. Clifton is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers 2000, served on the Florida Department of Education Science Advisory Board, created the World of the Sea proficiency badge for Citrus Council Junior Girl Scouts, was active in Orange and Seminole County school volunteers, and has authored curriculum and articles for science publications. One of his proudest achievements was becoming an Eagle Scout.
Mr. Clifton and his wife Merilee have both been trained and certified by the University of Florida as Florida Master Naturalists. They have also been trained by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission as facilitators for Project WILD, Project WILD Aquatic, Florida Black Bear, and Flying WILD programs. They are "graduates" of Answers in Genesis' Creation College I and Creation College II, science editors for The Aquarium Guide published by Answers in Genesis, and have edited articles for Answers magazine. The Cliftons have recently co-authored a book, The Complete Aquarium Adventure, that was published by Master Books (a division of New Leaf Publishing Group), the world's largest publisher of Creation materials. Their book is the third in the "Complete Adventure Series" of Creation guides to zoos, museums, and now aquaria.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifton have been married for 41 years. They have three adult children and ten grandchildren.
